Typical price ranges
Solo ceremony musician or singer: $300 to $900 for the ceremony, with cocktail hour usually adding $200 to $500.
String duo, trio or quartet: $900 to $2,500 depending on the number of players and hours.
Wedding DJ and MC: $900 to $2,500 for a full reception, often including basic uplighting.
Live wedding band: $2,500 to $10,000+ depending on the size of the band and length of the night.
What affects the price
Date and season matter most. Saturdays from June to October are in highest demand, so Friday, Sunday and winter weddings can save 10 to 25 percent.
Travel, setup time, sound and lighting, learning special songs and overtime are the other common factors. Ask each performer what is included before comparing quotes.
